Some of the Best Medium Power Portable Generators on the Market Today

Overview

First of all, we'll be the first to agree that our classification "medium power" may be subjective to some people. And there are other generators out there made by lesser-known manufacturers which we have not included but would qualify for the classification. In time, we hope to cover some of these too. But for now, we have gathered for you here a broad selection from among some the best you can buy.

Manufacturers

The models we look at are manufactured by A-iPower, Briggs & Stratton, Champion Power Equipment, DuroMax, Generac, WEN, and Westinghouse.

Types of Medium Power Models

Of the generators shown here, fifteen are single (gasoline) fuel-powered and eight are dual fuel (gasoline and propane) capable. Seven use inverter technology.

Power Outputs

Using gasoline, these generators range from a low of 2300 to a high of 6000 running watts, and 3000 to 7000 starting watts. On propane the outputs range from 3150 to 4275 running watts and 3600 to 5225 starting watts.
